The Weather in Kelowna
Kelowna enjoys over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, making this one of the sunniest
cities in Canada! Add to this the relatively mild year-round temperatures and this

Outdoor activities are abound and the daytime highs in the summer often exceed 35C (95F).

shores of Okanagan Lake allows many different pursuits to be enjoyed right on

than 200 lakes in the vicinity too. As you can imagine there are many different
activities you can enjoy on the water – boating, fishing, swimming, beaches and
more, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the famous Ogopogo, Lake
Okanagan’s very own lake monster!
With so much scenic beauty it’s not difficult to find some stunning Kelowna Bed and
Breakfasts, with lake views, mountain views, city views and more, and once you’ve
admired the scenery why not get out and enjoy it up close and personal?! A game of golf
perhaps? There’s an amazing 15 golf courses around Kelowna. Hikers will also be in
their element with tons of great hiking trails to explore, or how about a vineyard or
orchard tour? There are many vineyards and orchards around Kelowna as the climate makes
this an excellent spot to grow a large variety of fruits. You can even try wine tasting
in some of Canada’s most popular wineries.
If culture is more your thing, choose to stay at a Kelowna Bed and Breakfast within the
city’s Cultural District. There are some great cultural attractions here including
museums and galleries so you’re bound to find something of interest; after all,
Kelowna was voted Cultural Capital of Canada in its class in 2004!

With such an expansive lakefront location, many of Kelowna’s Bed and Breakfasts are
situated on the lake or with a lake view, either on the eastern side of Okanagan Lake in
Kelowna itself, or on the West Shore where you get views of both the lake and the
city.
Some Kelowna Bed and Breakfasts may offer only one guest room, whilst others are large
buildings with multiple guest rooms, swimming pools, hot tubs and more, ideal for larger
families or groups. You have many to choose from, so you can find the one which suits
your needs best!
