Vancouver is frequently ranked as one of the most liveable cities in the
world and it doesn't take visitors long to see why - the mild climate, its stunning
location and its clean streets are just three reasons why Vancouver is such a popular
destination!
The Weather in Vancouver
Compared to most cities in Canada, Vancouver has a very mild climate. The
city itself sees snow only on rare occasions, yet if it's snow you want, you only have to
journey a few minutes outside the city for some great skiing destinations! So with such a
mild climate, Vancouver makes a great city to visit at any time of the year, and you'll
find a vast array of Vancouver bed and breakfasts waiting to accommodate you.
You may have heard that Vancouver is a very wet city and are wondering if this is true.
Well it is and it isn't! During the summer, Vancouver weather can be very pleasant and
rainfall is low in fact Vancouver is the second driest major Canadian city
in the summer months! During fall and winter the story is a bit different though and
despite its mild climate, the city can be quite wet.
Vancouver Attractions
There are literally thousands of attractions for visitors to enjoy in Vancouver and
there's certainly something for everyone here! The city is definitely not short of great
accommodation you'll find there are many excellent Vancouver bed and breakfasts in all
parts of the city.
Outdoor lovers and sports enthusiasts may well find that Vancouver is your
dream destination! Vancouverites are recreation-mad - from jogging, cycling or
skating around the great Stanley Park Seawall to skiing or
snowboarding on Grouse Mountain, and everything in between!
Talking of Stanley Park, all visitors to Vancouver must experience Stanley
Park. As if the park wasn't attraction enough, there are also numerous attractions within
its boundaries - the world renowned Vancouver Aquarium for example, or the
famous Stanley Park Totem Poles.
And then there's the city itself - where should we start?! Well, there's the second
largest Chinatown in North America with the beautiful Dr Sun Yat-Sen
Classical Chinese Park and Gardens. Then there's the rejuvenated Gastown area
with many a restaurant, pub and shop to enjoy, or the redeveloped Granville
Island with its assortment of galleries, boutiques and other stores, as well as
the popular Granville Island Public Market. And you must visit the North
Shore as well, across Vancouver Harbour, and experience Canada's most popular
attraction, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and see the city from a-high by
taking a ride up the Grouse Mountain Skyride for breathtaking views.
Vancouver Bed and Breakfasts
There are a great many Vancouver bed and breakfasts available throughout the city, but
being such a popular city, accommodation is still in high demand so you should book your
early to avoid disappointment!
You may also find that this is an expensive city for everything, not least the Vancouver
bed and breakfasts, but if you shop around you're sure to find accommodation within your
budget too!
